These Walking Leaf Insect earrings are handmade and decorated by Emily Bzdyk, a graduate student studying bees and pursuing a PhD. These earrings mimic some of our resident leaf insects here in our petting zoo at the museum.
Making jewelry and other art has always been one of her passions. This often intersects with science, whether it is scientific illustration or decorative art based on biological subjects.
Emily's goal is to help fund her bee research with the sale of her artwork.
